Persepolis is the poignant story of a girl Iran since the Islamic revolution so far. The story begins when the fundamentalists take power forcing women to wear veils and imprisoning thousands. However she is very astute and discovers punk, ABBA and Iron Maiden while living the terror of the pursuit of new government and the Iran-Iraq war. As a teenager sent to Europe where he can finally compare other cultures with religious fundamentalism from which he escaped.
